The Magic of Persia Foundation (MOP),established in 2004, promotes Iranian art and culture to audiences outside of Iran, in order to make a notable contribution to its long-term advancement worldwide. This is accomplished through programmes focusing on modern and contemporary Iranian art, music, media, and academia in partnership with world-class institutions including the V&A, British Museum and Delfina Foundation. The charity’s primary source of funding derives from annual auctions of artworks generously donated by established and emerging Iranian artists. This year, MOP will host a live auction with a Chrisitie's auctioneer, as well as a silent auction throughout the evening at Cromwell Place on Thursday 30 June.
The event will also include a live performance by Iranian-American artist Darvish Fakhr and musical performance by Michael-Henry along with complimentary drinks and food. A talk “Shaping Iranian Art: the role of the market and institutions” will also be hosted on June 28th including a number of expert speakers.
