J&J Rawlin

Rarely seen works on paper by William Scott R.A. Meanwhile, with a second part of the exhibition focusing on Figure & Landscape, two classic Modern British themes.

Gallery 5, the space in which the exhibition will take place, allows the show to present two elements, the first being a group of rarely seen works on paper by William Scott R.A, who is known for combining amazing colours with his signature repertoire of forms.

The second part of the exhibition will focus on Figure & Landscape, two classic Modern British themes. The artists shown are a diverse group, ranging from Tracey Emin to Eduardo Paolozzi to Edward Burra. Drawing on strong juxtapositions represented through paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings. Studio Cermaics will also included are a group of interesting pieces to the exhibition, with pots by Lucie RieHans CoperHamada ShojiMichael Cardew and Ashley Howard.

J&J Rawlin

J&J Rawlin

J&J Rawlin was founded in 2014 by James and Jessica Rawlin, a husband and wife Arts partnership based in Suffolk, who work as independent curators throughout the UK and internationally.

They have placed many notable works in private collections, including significant examples from the oeuvres of Lucian Freud, Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Patrick Heron, Michael Andrews, David Bomberg, Frank Auerbach and others. They also work closely with the Estate of William Scott and have placed many important paintings by this key post-war British artist in collections at home and abroad.

Previous notable exhibitions include Harold Gilman: Beyond Camden Town, Djanogoly Gallery, Nottingham & Pallant House, Chichester (2018/19) and Exploring the Vessel, Paintings & Drawings: William Scott. Ceramics: Ashley Howard, private residence in Holland Park, London (2017).

James was formerly Head of Modern and Post-war British Art at Sotheby’s and Jessica was Associate Director at Browse & Darby.
