The artist will share an intimate and deeply personal body of works created over a period of almost two years, following the loss of her parents in 2020.
This series of paintings was created predominantly using make-up and face brushes her mother left behind. The imagery is often allegorical, somewhat disquieting but always tender, with a vibrancy and luminosity that arises from a conscious choice, gratitude, acceptance and hope.
Bárbara will discuss her practice, her process and the path that led to and through this body of work, touching on symbolism, the human condition and the role of creativity and art in mental health.
